I would respectfully disagree with your plastic surgeon. People come in to see me after surgical rhinoplasty all the time. I have injected around 1000 of them. The only thing that happened is that the imperfections they were concerned about, for the most part, improved. Complications are very rare. The worst thing that I see is some bruising or, rarely, that the tip of the nose may get a bit red and sensitive for a few weeks after injection (if we inject the tip). There is no reason that injections would make anything worse. I would be happy to take a look and let you know if fillers can correct your concerns.
Cheers,
AZR

Hi Dr. Rivkin,

I've been in before to see you for temporary fillers for the nose. I was happy with the results. Since then I've had a revisional rhinoplasty which unfortunately hasn't resolved the issues I had prior to surgery: bumps, scar tissue, and now my once straight nose doesn't appear straight after surgery. I had my surgery in September of 2010 and I would really like to come back in to correct these issues but my surgeon has advised me to stay away from any fillers as they may make my condition worse.

What do you recommend? I would appreciate your advice! Thank you.

artefil is very safe - i have been using it for many years without a problem. many of the issues with the material you read about concern artecoll or arteplast - earlier, european versions of this product. i have never seen lumps or migration or granulomas. the material is injected over 4 or 5 sessions, so the effect is very gradual. it is permanent once it is in place. i charge $2000 for the artefill nose procedure, and that includes all of the follow up appointments.

Hello Dr. Rivkin
I would like to get Artefill I have a small bump on the bridge of my nose.
I have read that some people have a bad experience with this type of filler.
I have never had any work done, but would it be reasonable to hypothesize that individuals who have had a nose job will have a different reaction to the Artefill?
I really want to get this done but I am concern I may be doing the wrong thing would you mind telling the Pros and Cons to using this? How permanent is it? Along with the cost?
I hope to schedule an appointment with you soon
But I would like some clerification on the matter before going in.
Thx

hi
artefill works very well, but you have to come back for 3 or 4 touch up treatments after the first treatment because the product settles and the collagen that is the carrier for the methyl methacrylate beads gets broken down by the body. these treatments are usually scheduled about a month apart. so, it takes a while, but once you are done with the touch ups, the effect is permanent.

hi dr. rivkin
artefill is quite popular for the non-surgical nose job. you mentioned touch ups. how long should one come back for touch ups? 3 weeks? 6 weeks? 2 months?

Hi Jade,
I have not heard of anyone having an allergic reaction to the non surgical rhinoplasty procedure. Radiesse is the filler that I usually use and I have never seen anyone have an allergic reaction to it. I would wait until the hives are completely gone before you undergo the non surgical nose job procedure, just to be safe. You should also try to determine what it was that gave you hives so that you could avoid it in the future.

Hi Mr. Rivkin,I am considering to do the non-surgical noise job. However, I am having hives. I have been taking allergy medicine for a week and it seemed worked. I am getting better. so my question is can I do it right now? or should I wait until I completly recovered from my allergy. I just don't know how long it will take for me to completely recovered.Have you heard anyone who has allergic reaction after the job? I mean the radiasse. thanksjade

artefill is a permanent filler - studies have shown that it lasts over 5 years, bu the material has been shown in other surgical applications to reside permanently in the body.
