Hi Dr. I am considering have artefill put in the bridge of my nose for a rather large divet from skin cancer. When I went into a facility that used fillers I was told that because the skin on the bridge of my nose was so thin that I COULD have like a irritated reaction to the Artefill and they suggested a possible fat transfer. I obviously would have the allergy test done. If all went well with that, is it still possible I could have some kind of a reaction on the bridge of my nose. Possible redness or broken capillaries or something? Thanks much
hi,
well, it depends on how thin is thin.
i have to doubt that you are in much danger from artefill. i usually inject it very superficially and i have not had any problems. if they take it easy, injecting small amounts over 3 or 4 sessions spaced about a month apart, you should be ok. that’s how i do it.
if you get some redness or broken capillaries, they should be able to zap them with a yag laser.

Hi Dr Rivkin,
I recently saw you for a consultation for non surgical nose job, I have a U shaped nose, so not a very defined bridge, and you said I would have good results, however you said from the front it would look the same, but what I really want changed is my front view. Do you have a computer generated imaging computer where you could show me my end result so I can make a decision? I want to use Artefill because I rather the results be permanent then my nose constantly changing. How much is the procedure with Artefill, and how many visits of what period of time is included.
hi april
unfortuantely, i don’t have computer generated modelling. i do modify the front view all the time, i probably meant that if we don’t want to change the front view we don’t have to. the artefill procedure is a flat rate of $2000, mostly because it takes 3 to 5 visits to complete the procedure. artefill tends to settle between sessions, so it is injected in layers. the visits are about a month apart.
