• Fraxel Laser Treatment

  Fraxel laser resurfacing (using the state-of-the-art Fraxel SR1500 laser) reduces fine lines, removes sun damage and brown spots, smoothes out acne scars, and rejuvenates the skin. The Fraxel SR1500 is the most comprehensive and powerful tool we have for skin rejuvenation. It is the only technology that effectively eliminates acne scars and surgical scars (the FDA recently approved Fraxel for these indications). Fraxel has recently been FDA approved for treatment of melasma (a hormonal pigmentation disorder that mostly affects women, especially after pregnancy) and for reduction of pore size.

  Westside Medical Spa has upgraded its Fraxel  to  the Fraxel II (SR1500) laser - an improved version of the original Fraxel. The Fraxel SR1500 does not require blue dye and the treatments give better results with less downtime.

• Photofacial

  Our Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) photofacial treatments resolve brown spots and visible blood vessels (capillaries and the redness of rosacea). The IPL emits light of a specific wavelength, which targets the discolored cells while leaving the lighter, healthy tissue undamaged. At the same time this process stimulates some collagen production, which helps fill in fine lines and refreshes the skin.

• BOTOX®

  Frown and worry lines between the eyebrows, and crow's feet can all be smoothed out with BOTOX® injections. BOTOX® also smoothes out the dimpled “orange peel” skin of the aging chin, it arches and elevates the eyebrows, eliminates neck bands, smoothes out vertical “smoker's” lip lines and elevates drooping corners of the mouth.

• Injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Restylane, Sculptra, Juvederm™, Artefill and Collagen offer a non-invasive alternative to surgery for many common signs of aging. Volume loss is one of the most obvious signs of aging. The fullness of the cheeks decreases, lips thin and the area under the eyes becomes hollow. Gravity and loss of fatty tissue under the skin combine to give us a drawn, tired and gaunt appearance as we get older. Our options to replace this volume have, in the past, been very limited. Fat transfer has been an unreliable, expensive  technique and collagen injections have a very short duration of effect.                                                  FDA approval of these new longer lasting injectable fillers has revolutionized anti-aging aesthetic medicine. Dr. Rivkin commonly fills the cheeks with Radiesse or even Artefill, re-creating  youthful fullness and re-suspending the face. He eliminates dark circles under the eyes by refilling the collapsed area under the eye with Juvederm, removing the depression into which the shadow that makes dark circles falls. The effect of each of these treatments lasts for one to one and a half years and they are painless, easy and quick lunchtime procedures.
  Of course these fillers are also excellent  at reducing the appearance of smile lines (nasolabial folds), frown lines (marionette lines) and lines between the eyebrows.
