Your LA Featuring Westside Medical Spa & Dr. Alexander Rivkin
Host Rachel Boesing: OK, it’s a fact of life. If there’s something you don’t like about yourself—you know, you’ve got a little too much of this or not enough of that—you can get it changed. And LA should know; it’s the plastic surgery capital of the world. But lots of people, that would include me as well, don’t want invasive surgery. Well, now there’s a whole new way of getting work done without going under the knife.
Office of Dr. Alexander Rivkin, Westside Medical Spa:
Christina: My name is Christina and I’m here to get the non-surgical nose job. I chose non-surgical because having surgery is a big, big commitment. You never know how it’s going to come out. At least this way, I get it done temporarily ... So, I could live with this.
Dr. Alexander Rivkin: The focus of Westside Medical Spa is to provide non-surgical, non-invasive cosmetic treatments to the average person.
Dr. Rivkin warmly greets his patient in the waiting area of Westside Medical Spa, “Christina, it’s good to see you again.” The two exchange pleasantries and are ready to get started.
“So, you’re all set to go?” Dr. Rivkin asks.
Christina responds, “Yes, very excited. Let’s go!”
While Christina sits comfortably in the patient’s chair, Dr. Rivkin explains the procedure, “I’m going to put a little bit of numbing cream on your nose so that this is absolutely as comfortable as possible. We’re just going to do a little bit of injection right in this area to make it nice and straight ... It will last you for about a year or so, but the nice thing is that there’s a new filler material that has just been approved by the FDA. When you come back, if you like it, we can refill with Artefill and that is a permanent filler ... What you’re going to feel is a little pinch right in here. I’m going to stick the needle in. I’ll tell you before I do anything.” Dr. Rivkin demonstrates, “When I first inject, the material is under the skin. With my fingers I can actually shape it and move it into the form that I want it to go. It’s kind of like Play-Doh.”
Dr. Alexander Rivkin: “There are certain things this procedure can’t do. I can’t make a nose physically smaller, BUT I can make a nose with a bump look smaller by camouflaging the bump and making the nose straight and having the nose blend into the rest of the face. The only reason to do surgical rhinoplasty is to make the nose smaller. Anything else should be done with this method.”
Dr. Alexander Rivkin: “In terms of pain and in terms of discomfort, with this procedure, it’s pretty minimal. The worst thing I’ve seen is a little bit of bruising and maybe a little bit of redness. Oftentimes, I’ve been doing procedures to correct surgical scarring problems or side effects of surgery. The best thing is when the people come in and we do the procedure and they say, ‘You know, I’ve been dreaming about doing this to my nose for fifteen years.’ It’s a nice feeling when I can provide people with something they’ve been really just wishing for such a long time and have not been able to get.”
Back in the patient’s chair, Dr. Rivkin hands Christina a mirror, “So first of all, in the front, there’s not this kind of deviation… it’s nice and straight.”
Christina is pleased with the immediate results, “Right, wow, what a big difference.”
Dr. Rivkin continues, “And if you look at the profile, that’s the biggest difference of all. Now, here, it just goes straight down like that, and that’s nice. It’s nice and easy and it really straightens things out.” Christina concurs, “It’s nice!”
Dr. Alexander Rivkin: “Well, that’s the 10 minute nose procedure. If you have any questions about it, go ahead and visit us on the web at WestsideMedicalSpa.com. Thanks for visiting with me and hope to see you soon.
Host Rachel Boesing: “Wow, it’s a nose job without the job! What will they think of next? Well, for more information about these services head online to www.WestsideMedicalSpa.com.”
